Languages are marvelously complex

and wonderfully complicated organs of culture:

they embody the quickest and the most efficientmeans of communicating

within their respective culture.

To learn a foreign language is to learn another culture.
學(xué)習(xí)外語就等于學(xué)習(xí)另一種文化。
In a words of a poet and philosopher,

"As many languages as one speaks, so many lives one lives."
"你懂幾種外語，你就過著幾種不同的生活。"
A culture and its language are as inseparable as brain and body;
文化及其語言正像人腦與人體一樣不可分割。
while one is a part of the other,neither can function without the other.
雖然其中一個(gè)是另一個(gè)的部分，但是失去一部分，另一部分就不能運(yùn)作。
In learning a foreign language, the best beginning
學(xué)習(xí)外語最好的開始是
is with the non- verbal linguistic elements of the language,
從這種語言的非語言的語言成分開始，
its gestures,its body language.
即從手勢(shì)，體語開始。
Eye contact is extremely important in English.
在英語中，眼神的接觸極其重要。
Direct eye contact leads to understanding,

or,as the English maxim has it,seeing eye-to-eye.
或者正如英語格言說的意見完全一致。
We can never see eye-to-eye with a native speaker of English

until we have learned to look directly into his eyes.
