考點3 臨近原則

臨近原則是指謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)與最近的主語的單復(fù)數(shù)形式保持一致。

1. 當(dāng)not only... but（also）..., either... or..., neither... nor..., not... but...等引導(dǎo)并列主語時，謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)取決于靠近謂語動詞的主語的單復(fù)數(shù)

Neither her younger brothers nor she is willing to return.

她和她的弟弟們都不愿意回來。

Not only Tom but also his parents have been tired of telling the story.

不僅湯姆而且他的父母都厭倦了講述這個故事。

2. 在某些倒裝句或倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)中，謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)也取決于臨近主語的單復(fù)數(shù)形式

There is a pen and two books on the desk. 桌子上有一支筆和兩本書。

There are two books and a pen on the desk. 桌子上有兩本書和一支筆。
