首先，let's have a review. 您還得我們?cè)诘诹n中講到的與“make somebody slightly angry”和“cause somebody trouble”同義的美語(yǔ)在spoken English (口語(yǔ))上的說(shuō)法嗎?它是：get in one's hair 打攪(妨礙，打擾)某人;激怒(惹怒)某人。

【今日課堂】

現(xiàn)在我們開(kāi)始第七課的學(xué)習(xí)。Lesson seven: How to say "毛骨悚然" in American English? 第七課：“毛骨悚然”，美語(yǔ)怎么說(shuō)?

“毛骨悚然”這個(gè)短語(yǔ)在我們中國(guó)文學(xué)上廣泛流傳沿用。古代文學(xué)《東周列國(guó)志》中寫(xiě)到：“清王聞之，不覺(jué)毛骨悚然”?，F(xiàn)代文學(xué)巴金老先生的作品《春》中寫(xiě)到：“淑英看到毛骨悚然，淑華看到怒氣沖天。”若是您跟一位美國(guó)作家談?wù)撈谶@些中國(guó)名著，那還真得好好學(xué)習(xí)how to say "毛骨悚然" in American English.

“毛骨悚然”中的“悚然”意思是“恐懼的樣子”。身上毛發(fā)豎起，脊梁骨發(fā)冷。用之來(lái)形容十分恐懼，極其害怕。So , how to say it in English? We might as well listen to the following sentence: It was that movie that have ever made my hair stand on end. 就是那部電影曾經(jīng)使我看后毛骨悚然，至今還記憶尤新。在這個(gè)句子中，用了一個(gè)含有使役動(dòng)詞make, m-a-k-e的一個(gè)動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ)結(jié)構(gòu)來(lái)表述“毛骨悚然”，它是：make one's hair stand on end. Hair 是毛發(fā)，stand on end是豎起來(lái)，make one's hair stand on end連在一起就是：被嚇得毛發(fā)都立起來(lái)了。It is similar to saying "be scared to death" (被嚇?biāo)懒?。How vividly American use it to give a description of what a man looks like when he's frightened.

Let's look at two more sentences to get a grasp of it in order to use it with ease. 　It really makes my hair stand on end the moment I think that I've been alone in that building in the darkness.每當(dāng)我想起我曾經(jīng)獨(dú)自一人在黑夜中呆在那幢樓里，我就毛骨悚然。2 It made my hair stand on end when I know my wallet had been stolen. 我知道我錢包被偷了，我嚇得渾身毛骨悚然。
