今天的婦女

Women are playing an increasingly important part insociety today.

婦女在當(dāng)今社會(huì)中扮演著越來越重要的角色。

Not restricted to their roles as wives and mothersanymore,

她們不再局限于扮演妻子和母親的角色。

they now work and have become the equal partnersof men.

她們現(xiàn)在外出工作，并成為男性同等地位的伙伴。

In many countries, more and more women are serving as workers,teachers,

在許多國家，越來越多的婦女走上了工人，教師，

scientists and even leaders.

科學(xué)家甚至領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的崗位。

We can say that almost all jobs which men can do

我們可以說，男人能做到的事，

are done perfectly by women.

婦女也完全能夠做到。

Women are no longer looked down upon by society.

婦女不再受到社會(huì)的歧視。

With the changes in their social role,

隨著社會(huì)角色的變化，

women's position in the family has improved as well.

婦女在家庭中的角色也得到了改善。

Husband and wife are now equal in the family.

在家中，夫妻平等，

The cope with problems of daily life together,

他們共同處理日常生活中的問題，

and share happiness with each other.

同甘共苦。

It is also unusual in today's world to find a woman busy with dinner

在現(xiàn)今的家庭中，幾乎看不到婦女一個(gè)人在忙于做飯，

while her husband sits in an armchair and reads a newspaper.

而丈夫卻舒服地躺在椅子上看報(bào)紙的情景。

In spite of these changes,

盡管有了一些變化，

there are still a lot of inequalities between men and women.

但男性和女性之間仍然存在著許多不平等。

The liberation of women has not been completely realized.

婦女還沒有被完全解放，

A number of men still jealously guard their rights.

大部分男人仍有夫權(quán)思想。

The contribution and demands of women have been degraded and ignored.

女性的貢獻(xiàn)和要求一向被貶低和忽視。

In general the image of women has changed a lot.

但總的來說，婦女的形象已經(jīng)改變了很多。

Women of today have, on their own,come a long way.

當(dāng)今的婦女已靠自己向前邁進(jìn)了很多。
