Due to the Grand College Enrollment Plan,

the number of university graduates has been on the increase

since the central government started implementing the plan.

Though the plan helps improve our national quality,

it creates pressure for the job markets.

With so many college students coming out at a time,

many graduates have difficulties in finding suitable jobs.

In order to create more jobs,

the government encourages college graduates to work in villages of 28 provinces and regions with a view that 28

rural administration will be strengthened at the same time.

這樣鄉(xiāng)村的管理水平將會(huì)提升。

As a result, tens of thousands college graduates have been appointed as village officials in the rural areas.

所以上萬(wàn)名大學(xué)畢業(yè)生成為了村官。

It appears that this plan helps alleviate the pressure caused by graduate employment,

這個(gè)計(jì)劃似乎降低了大學(xué)畢業(yè)生找工作難的壓力

but I do not think the plan will work in the long run.

但是我不認(rèn)為這樣的計(jì)劃會(huì)長(zhǎng)期有效。

Firstly, after serving as village officials in the rural areas for two years,

首先在鄉(xiāng)村工作兩年之后

the majority of those college village officials will start to look for jobs in the job market again,

絕大部分的大學(xué)生繼續(xù)回到市場(chǎng)找工作

aggravating the pressure of the job market.

這又增加了市場(chǎng)的壓力。

Some may argue that the number of those village officials who enter the job market again

許多人認(rèn)為這些回到市場(chǎng)找工作的村官

is balanced by the number of new college graduates

與新應(yīng)屆大學(xué)生的數(shù)量相當(dāng)

who would be appointed as village officials.

這些新畢業(yè)生也將成為村官。

The truth is that while those students have spent two years in the rural areas,

事實(shí)上那些在農(nóng)村工作兩年的學(xué)生

they do not gain enough experience in the corporate world

他們?nèi)狈υ诠镜墓ぷ鹘?jīng)驗(yàn)

and are likely to forget what they have learnt in college.

他們很有可能也忘記了在大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)的知識(shí)。

In this sense,they are not guaranteed to find decent jobs again.

從這一方面講他們沒(méi)有能力找到體面的工作。

Besides, when working in the rural areas,

此外在農(nóng)村工作的學(xué)生

these students with higher degrees are respected by village people,

受到了村民們的尊敬

and are likely to get accustomed to feeling superior to people around them.

并有可能適應(yīng)了那種具有優(yōu)勢(shì)感的生活。

One can imagine they would probably be frustrated

他們也會(huì)感到困惑

when they work with those who hold the same college degrees or even higher degrees.

特別是他們與擁有同等學(xué)歷或者是更高學(xué)歷的人一起工作時(shí)。

Secondly,when the supply of college graduates and the demand of our society are unbalanced,

第二當(dāng)學(xué)生與工作的供求不平衡時(shí)

the imbalance can be obtained by increasing available jobs

這種不平衡可以通過(guò)增加就業(yè)來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn)

or decreasing the supply of college graduates,

或者是減少畢業(yè)生的數(shù)量來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn)

which means the reduction of college enrollment.

這就意味著減少進(jìn)入大學(xué)學(xué)生的數(shù)量。

Given the fact that the economy slows down in the recent,

最近一段時(shí)間經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展速度緩慢

it is difficult to create more jobs.

這使得找工作變得更加不易。

While offering good terms for graduates such as well-paid salary and residential certificateguarantee,

the government can create more jobs in the short term

政府能夠在短期內(nèi)增加更多的就業(yè)

but does not provide long-term remedy.

In this sense, the plan does not solve the fundamental imbalance

從這一方面講這個(gè)計(jì)劃不能夠解決根本的不平衡問(wèn)題

between the supply and the demand of college graduates.

這種不平衡是畢業(yè)生和工作之間的不平衡。

In sum, the plan to encourage college graduates to work in the rural areas

總之這種鼓勵(lì)大學(xué)生當(dāng)村官的計(jì)劃

can only provide a temporary remedy for the job market.

只能解決市場(chǎng)的燃眉之急。

I think the government should recognize the fundamental imbalance

我認(rèn)為政府應(yīng)該認(rèn)識(shí)到這種不平衡

and find the way back to elite education.

并繼續(xù)發(fā)展高等教育。
