"Nix on swiping anything," suggested John Poldowski, solemnly.

“不許偷任何東西，”約翰.波多克嚴(yán)肅地說。

"Very good," said Stuart. "Good law".

“很好，”斯圖亞特說。好法律。

"Never poison anything but rats," said Anthony Brendisi.

“不要毒死任何東西，除非大老鼠，”安東尼.布倫迪西說。

"That's no good," said Stuart.

“那不好，”斯圖亞特說。

It's unfair to rats.

這對大老鼠不公平。

A law has to be fair to everybody.

一條法律應(yīng)該對每個人都公平。

Anthony looked sulky.

安東尼.布倫迪西看起來很惱火。

"But rats are unfair to us," he said.

“但是大老鼠對我們也不公平，”他說。

Rats are objectionable.

大老鼠讓人討厭。

"I know they are," said Stuart.

“我知道，”斯圖亞特說。

But from a rat's point of view, poison is objectionable.

但是以一個大老鼠的眼光看，毒藥也是很討厭的。

A Chairman has to see all sides to a problem.

一個領(lǐng)導(dǎo)者必須要全面地看問題。

"Have you got a rat's point of view?" asked Anthony.

“你就有大老鼠的眼光吧?”安東尼問。

You look a little like a rat.

你看起來就有點兒像大老鼠。

"No," replied Stuart, "I have more the point of view of a mouse, which is very different.

“不，”斯圖亞特回答，“我有的更多的是老鼠的眼光，那是很不同的。

I see things whole.

我對問題看得更全面。

It's obvious to me that rats are underprivileged.

很顯然，以我看，大老鼠的社會地位太低下了，

They've never been able to get out in the open.
