　　看到友人對感情不忠，或是參加一項(xiàng)考試臨時抱佛腳，由于未能妥善經(jīng)營或充分準(zhǔn)備，導(dǎo)致分手或失敗，這時可引用本句，意謂“一切皆已太遲了”，我們有時可說成“It's too late to do anything about that.”(做任何補(bǔ)救，皆已無濟(jì)于事了。)

　　A：I hear Yolanda has been studying every night this week for the exam.

　　甲：我聽說約蘭德這星期每晚都在勤讀準(zhǔn)備考試。

　　B：That’s good，but I think it’s too late.She hasn’t studied all semester，and I doubt she can catch up in one week.

　　乙：那很好，但我想已經(jīng)太遲了。 她整個學(xué)期都沒好好讀書，我不認(rèn)為她能在一周內(nèi)趕上進(jìn)度。
