Lesson 21 Mad or not?

課文內(nèi)容：

Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad. I live near anairport and passing planes can be heard night andday. The airport was built years ago, but for somereason it could not be used then. Last year,however, it came into use. Over a hundredpeople must have been driven away from theirhomes by the noise. I am one of the few peopleleft. Sometimes I think this house will be knockeddown by a passing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I amdetermined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

然而去年機場開始使用了。

語言點 “動詞+ into”短語：come into use投入使用; change into變成;get into卷入，進入：get intotroubles 惹上麻煩;throw into 拓進;creep into 爬進;sb. be into 給……迷住，對…… 深感興趣：Mybrother, Jay, is into computer game now. 我弟弟杰伊現(xiàn)在對電腦游戲著迷。

5.Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise.

有100多人肯定是被噪音逼得已經(jīng)棄家遠去。

語言點1 have been driven away... by...，此句為典型的現(xiàn)在完成時的被動語態(tài)。

語言點2 over—詞多義，基本意思是“在……之上”, 這里意為“超過”。 其他用法：Try it over.再試試看。/ beover-careful過分謹慎; over the street在街對面

語言點3 drive的常用短語：drive away趕走;drive out趕出;drive into趕進;drive sb. back把某人趕回;drive sb. mad把某人逼瘋;drive at用意所在;drive to開車前往

常見于口語：

I don’t understand what you’re driving at.我不明白您的意思。

My good friends are driving to the supermarket.我的好朋友們正開車去超市。

我是少數(shù)留下來的人當中的一個。

語言點1 “one of +范圍，，表示“……中的一個”：He is one of the gangsters. 他是歹徒之一。

語言點2 the few people其中為數(shù)不多的人

Few people like snakes and snails. 很少有人喜歡蛇和蝸牛。

語言點3 left是leave(剩下，留下)的過去式及過去分詞形式，在此為過去分詞作后置定語。
