Lesson 8 The best and the worst

課文內(nèi)容：

Joe Sanders has the most beautiful garden in ourtown. Nearly everybody enters for ‘The NicestGarden Competition' each year, but Joe wins everytime. Bill Frith's garden is larger than Joe's. Bill worksharder than Joe and grows more flowers andvegetables, but Joe's garden is more interesting. Hehas made neat paths and has built a wooden bridgeover a pool. I like gardens too, but I do not likehard work. Every year I enter for the garden competition too, and I always win a littleprize for the worst garden in the town!

語言點 but表示語氣上的轉(zhuǎn)折，要重讀并稍作停頓。

He tried to climb the tree, but he could not.他盡力爬樹，但是沒有成功。(結(jié)果沒有爬上去)

每年我也都報名參加花園比賽，但總是只獲得鎮(zhèn)上最差花園獎!

語言點1 always等表示頻率的副詞一般放在實義動詞前，如此句中放在了win之前。
