從事這一行業(yè)的則被稱為“職業(yè)討債人”(debt collector),他們的工作就是向各種欠款者催賬(debt collection),比如向信用卡欠款人(credit cardholders who defaulted on their repayments)等。
在過去幾年,中國的銀行、P2P借貸平臺(peer-to-peer lending platforms)、小額貸款公司(microfinance companies)等機構的不良貸款(non-performing loans or NPL)問題加劇。這也催生了“職業(yè)討債”這一行當。
“討債公司”也要合法經營。如按期不歸還欠款,討債公司會與律所合作,使用法律途徑,如發(fā)律師函(dispatch lawyer notices),甚至起訴(file lawsuits)。
