1.wait   及物動詞 vt. & 不及物動詞 vi.
         等候, 等待
         We shan't wait long.
         我們不會等很久的。

2.I'd rather be his whore than your wife.
         would rather    than    :
         寧愿...而不愿；與其…不如
         He would rather play than work.
         他“寧可”玩，卻不愿工作。

3.Can anybody hear me? 在文本中的意思是有沒有人聽得見？
hear from   收到…的信；受…的批評
I hope to hear from you soon.
我希望能夠早點兒收到你的信。

4. hear of：聽到說起
We grieved to hear of your loss.
聽到你蒙受損失，我們感到痛心。

5.put on   :穿上；上演；增加；假裝；使…上場
           When she married, she put on her Sunday best.
           她結(jié)婚的時候穿的是自己最好的衣服。

文本中出現(xiàn)了一個詞組是 would rather than : 寧愿...而不愿；與其…不如 ,但是在我們平時的寫作中或者閱讀中還有很多類似的詞組 ....

1. Neither……nor     :既不 …… 也不 …… ，既非 …… 也非 ……
例如：Neither boy students nor girl students are right ．男生和女生都不對。
（連接兩個并列的復數(shù)主語）

Neither the teacher nor the students are going to Huashan. 老師和同學們都不打算去華山。
動詞與最靠近的主語相一致）

2. either…or…    ：要么 …… 要么 …… ，或者 …… 或者 ……
例如：The green shirt is either yours or hers ．這件綠色的襯衣不是你的就是她的。
（連接并列表語）
Either Mary or Rose is coming ．不是瑪麗來，就是羅斯來。
（連接兩個并列的單數(shù)主語）

1. 我在等你的解釋。
______________________________________

2.我不會講法語，她也不會講法語。
_____________________________________

3. 她不是醉了就是瘋了。
