depend on/upon意為“取決于；依靠”，后面可以接短語(yǔ)或從句。在使用此短語(yǔ)時(shí)必須將depend與on連用，不可分開(kāi)（depend被修飾時(shí)除外，如：depend too much on），如下面兩種表達(dá)：
1) They depend their living on me. (×)
2) They depend on me for living. (√)

關(guān)于depend，口語(yǔ)中常用的表達(dá)有That/It all depends. 意思是“這很難說(shuō)，得看情況”。表示說(shuō)話者對(duì)某事持不確定的態(tài)度。如：
1) Sometimes we're busy and sometimes we're not so busy. That (It all) depends. 我們有時(shí)候忙，有時(shí)候不忙，得分情況。
