奧巴馬稱就職后將第一時間處理中東問題

Obama reiterates to engage immediately on Mideast as president

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama pledged on Sunday that he will tackle hot issues in the Middle East as soon as he is inaugurated on Jan. 20.

"What I am doing right now is putting together the team so that on January 20th, starting on day one, we have the best possible people who are going to be immediately engaged in the Middle East peace process as a whole," he said in an interview with ABC News.

The team would "be engaging with all of the actors there. That will work to create a strategic approach that ensures that both Israelis and Palestinians can meet their aspirations," Obama said of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflicts in the Gaza Strip.

It was reported that nearly 900 Palestinians have been killed and some 3,500 others wounded in Israel's military strikes targeted at Hamas in the Gaza Strip since December 27, 2008.

Obama repeated that he was "deeply concerned" about the situation in Gaza. But he said that it would be imprudent of him to send any signals that his incoming administration is running foreign policy.

美國當(dāng)選總統(tǒng)奧巴馬１１日發(fā)表談話，表示在２０日宣誓就職后會立即采取措施解決巴勒斯坦與以色列爭端，推動中東和平進(jìn)程。

奧巴馬在接受美國廣播公司采訪時說，他正在組建一個專門團(tuán)隊，以便在就職后有最合適的人員參與中東和平進(jìn)程。他表示，該團(tuán)隊將提出戰(zhàn)略性建議，以確保巴以雙方實(shí)現(xiàn)彼此的和平愿望。

奧巴馬曾多次發(fā)表講話，對當(dāng)前以色列和哈馬斯在加沙地區(qū)的軍事沖突表示關(guān)切。但他在當(dāng)天的電視訪談中拒絕就以色列大舉進(jìn)攻加沙發(fā)表評論。

據(jù)報道，自去年１２月２７日以色列對加沙地帶實(shí)施軍事打擊以來，巴勒斯坦方面死亡人數(shù)已接近９００人，另有３５００人受傷。
