霍金追悼會邀請未來人類

Members of the public have been invited to apply for tickets to attend a celebration of Professor Stephen Hawking's life at a memorial service in Westminster Abbey on June 15, with visitors from the future welcome to apply.

史蒂芬·霍金教授的追悼會將于6月15日在威斯敏斯特大教堂舉行，主辦方邀請公眾，也歡迎那些來自未來的人們申請入場門票以參與對霍金生命的禮贊。

Applicants need to fill in a form online and state their date of birth. The application allows people born more than 20 years into the future to come.

申請人需在網(wǎng)上填寫一份表格，說明自己的出生日期。該申請表允許未來20年以后出生的人參與其中。

Up to now, over 10,000 people from more than 50 countries have applied for tickets.

截至目前，來自全球50多個國家逾1萬民眾已申請了門票。

 

Hawking once held a "time traveler party" back in 2009, to see if any would turn up if he posted the invite after the party, but no one turned up at that time.

霍金曾在2009年舉辦過一場“時間旅行者的派對”，等派對結(jié)束后他再發(fā)出請柬，看是否會有人出現(xiàn)，但那時并沒有人到場。

A legendary figure in the modern history of physics, Hawking, who died on March 14 this year, is known for his work with black holes and relativity.

現(xiàn)代物理學史上的傳奇人物霍金于今年3月14日去世，他以黑洞和相對論方面的研究聞名。

He broke new ground on the basic laws which govern the universe, including the revelation that black holes have a temperature and produce radiation, now known as Hawking radiation.
