過去進行時主要表示過去某一時刻或某一階段正在發(fā)生或進行的動作。
1．表示過去某一時刻內(nèi)正在進行或發(fā)生的動作，常與at 7 o'clock ，at that time 等表示具體時間的短語連用。
Mike was writing a letter at that time. 邁克那時正在寫信。
2．表示過去某一段時間內(nèi)一直在進行的動作，常與last week ，last year 等表示一段時間的短語連用。
The baby was playing with a doll last week. 上個星期這個寶寶一直在玩一個布娃娃。
3．表示一個動作發(fā)生時，另一個動作正在進行。
I was washing dishes when the door bell rang. 我正在洗碗的時候門鈴響了。
