中文有個(gè)成語(yǔ)叫做“千鈞一發(fā)”。顧名思義就就是指用一根頭發(fā)懸起千鈞重物。千鈞一發(fā)用來(lái)比喻極為緊急，極其危險(xiǎn)的關(guān)頭，狀況等等。So how should we put it in English? We might as well listen to the following sentence: We made it. We made this train by a hair. 我們趕上了，我們?cè)谶@千鈞一發(fā)之際趕上了火車。這句話中用了一個(gè)含有hair, h-a-i-r- 頭發(fā)這個(gè)單詞的一個(gè)短語(yǔ)來(lái)表述“千鈞一發(fā)”，它是：by a hair.我們可以想象火車還有一秒鐘就要開(kāi)了，we will miss the train;但是就在這一秒鐘之內(nèi)，we catch the train. So , how lucky we are! 可見(jiàn)當(dāng)時(shí)情況是多么的緊急呀!Let's look at one more sentence: He rushed up bravely by a hair. 他在這千鈞一發(fā)的緊急關(guān)頭沖了上去。
