Chatting away

Pushing my cart up a supermarket aisle, I came upon a woman chatting away on her cell phone. There was barely enough room to squeeze by her, and she seemed to be having trouble maneuvering her cart out of the way.

“I’ve got to go,” I heard her say to the person on the other end. “I’ll call you back from the next aisle.”

詞匯講解】

1.cart推車。cart還可以作動(dòng)詞，有“運(yùn)載”的意思：We were carted to the little town.我們被用車送到那個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)上。

2.aisle過道。an aisle manager商店鋪面巡行員。Aisle seats have more room for carry-on luggage.靠過道的座位有較寬綽的空間可放手提行李。

3.chat away閑聊。They often chatted away online.他們經(jīng)常在網(wǎng)上聊天。chat還有“勸告”的意思：She would chat him back.她要?jiǎng)袼貋?lái)。
