One woman said to another, "My daughter is so smart that she was walking at 7 months old! "

The other replied, "That's no big deal. My son was so clever at that age he made us carry him."

Notes:

一個女人對另一個女人說：“我女兒非常聰明，她七個月就會走路了!”

表示幾歲用"...years old"，但是小嬰兒還沒滿一歲，所以把years(年)改成month(月)就可以表達幾個月大了;句中的so..that...表示“如此…以致于”，在口語上that通常會省略，如下面第三句便省略了that。

孩子通常一歲左右才開始會走路，所以這個媽媽當然覺得自己的孩子很聰明，學得比一般孩子快。

另一個因答說：“那沒什么了不起。我兒子好聰明，在耶么大時，他讓我們抱他。”

“deal”在這里是“事件”的意思，所以"That's no big deal." (那不是什么大事。)引申為“那沒什么大不了。”
