583　respected，respectable，respectful和respective

① respected受尊敬的，如年長(zhǎng)者、權(quán)威性的意見(jiàn)等。

His book is a highly respected authority in physics. 他的書在物理界是一本深受尊敬的權(quán)威著作。

② respectable （deserving respect；quite good；showing or having good character and fair social position）相當(dāng)不錯(cuò)的；（由于社會(huì)地位、財(cái)產(chǎn)等）受人尊敬的。

It's not respectable to get drunk in the street. 在大街上喝得醉醺醺是有失體統(tǒng)的。

His record in school is always respectable，but never brilliant. 他在學(xué)校的成績(jī)始終不錯(cuò)，但從不突出。

③ respectful （showing respect to）充滿敬意的。
