557　prevent和forbid后的結(jié)構(gòu)

① prevent sb. from+動名詞表示“阻止某人……，禁止某人……”。

同類用法還有：

ban+sb./sth.+from+動名詞

prohibit+sb./sth.+from+動名詞

restrict+sb./sth.+from+動名詞

restrain+sb./sth.+from+動名詞

keep+sb./sth.+from+動名詞

stop+sb./sth.+from+動名詞

② 在現(xiàn)代英語中，prevent sb./sth. from doing sth. 和stop sb./sth. from doing sth. 中的from常可省略，但用于被動語態(tài)時，from不可省。而keep sb./sth. from doing sth. 中的from 不可省。

Nothing will keep her from doing it. 什么也不能阻止她做那件事。

Who can stop you （from）going if you want to go？如果你要去，誰又阻止得了呢？

The rain prevented me to go there.

The rain prevented me （from）going there.

下雨使我無法去那兒。

We were kept by the rain from going there. 下雨使我們不能去那兒。（from不可?。?

③ forbid表示“禁止”，結(jié)構(gòu)為：forbid sb.+to do sth.，be forbidden to do sth.。

They were forbidden to enter the hotel. 他們被禁止進入旅館。
