① in order to+動(dòng)詞原形和so as to+動(dòng)詞原形都可以放在句中。

She got up early in order to/so as to/catch the first bus. 她早早起了床，以便趕上頭班車(chē)。

The doctors gave her a general checkup so as to/in order to find out the cause of her illness. 醫(yī)生給她做了全身檢查，以便找出她的病因。

② in order to可放在句首，而so as to則不可。

In order to win the watch，they practised hard. 為了贏得比賽，他們刻苦訓(xùn)練。

In order to get good results，we ought to do our best to study the lessons. 為了獲得好成績(jī)，我們應(yīng)盡最大努力學(xué)好課程。

③ so as to可分開(kāi)用，而in order to則不可。

The teacher spoke so slowly as to be understood by the students. 老師說(shuō)得很慢，以便學(xué)生能聽(tīng)得懂。

④ so as to有否定形式 so as not to，而in order to則沒(méi)有。

⑤ in order that后跟從句，引導(dǎo)目的狀語(yǔ)從句，相當(dāng)于 so that，句中謂語(yǔ)常含有 can，may，might，could 等情態(tài)動(dòng)詞。

I lent her some money in order that she could go for a holiday. 我借給了她一些錢(qián)，以便她能去度假。

He saved much money in order that he might buy a car. 他存了許多錢(qián)，以便能買(mǎi)輛車(chē)。

如果 in order that 所引導(dǎo)的從句主語(yǔ)同主句主語(yǔ)一致，可以轉(zhuǎn)換為 in order to+動(dòng)詞原形結(jié)構(gòu)。
