職場(chǎng)英語(yǔ)日記 第15篇：失敗的餐會(huì)

Last night was a total disaster! There were ten people at the dinner party and they were all couples, except for Sean, the guy from Chris' work,and me. Talk about pressure! It didn't help that I had this enormous pimple on my face. I felt like everyone was staring at it.

昨晚真是徹底失敗!餐會(huì)一共10個(gè)人，除了克里斯的同事西恩和我以外，全都是夫妻檔。你想想看那種壓力有多大!更慘的是，我臉上長(zhǎng)了顆大痘痘，感覺(jué)好像大家都盯著它瞧一樣。

I tried to cover it up with makeup, but it was really huge and it was right between my eyes. Why do I always break out at the exact wrong time?

我想用化妝把它蓋住，可是它好大好紅，又剛好長(zhǎng)在兩眼中間。為什么痘痘總是在r完全錯(cuò)誤的時(shí)間突然冒出來(lái)?

It doesn't matter really because Sean is just not my type. He's good-loking but all he tlked was about his car, his designer clothes, and how much money he makes. I think he was trying to impress me, but it didn't work. He never asked anything about me; he just went on and on about himself.

不過(guò)也沒(méi)關(guān)系啦，因?yàn)槲鞫鞑皇俏蚁矚g的那種類型。人的確是帥，可是他一直在談他的車子、名牌服裝，還有他賺了多少錢，等等。我想他大概是想讓我對(duì)他刮目相看吧，可是一點(diǎn)用都沒(méi)有。他從頭到尾沒(méi)問(wèn)過(guò)我的事，一個(gè)人不停地唱著獨(dú)角戲。

On the bright side, the food was great. Jen made a big green salad with avocado and oranges and Chris barbequed fresh spring salmn. I ate until I was stuffed.

不過(guò)往好處想，晚餐還真是不錯(cuò)。珍用鱷梨和橙弄了一大盤蔬菜沙拉，克里斯還烤了新鮮的春魷。我吃得好飽好飽。
