第二章 前所未有的最偉大的發(fā)明家

Near Heidelberg, in Germany, somebody was once digging a pit when they came across a bone, deep down under the ground.

有一次有人在德國(guó)海德堡附近挖一個(gè)坑，人們?cè)谀莾旱牡叵律钐幷业搅艘粔K骨頭。

It was a human bone. A lower jaw.

一塊人的骨頭。一塊下頜骨。

But no human beings today have jaws like this one.

但現(xiàn)在沒(méi)有人有這樣的下頜骨了。

It was so massive and strong, and had such powerful teeth!

它十分堅(jiān)固而結(jié)實(shí)，那上面的牙齒十分強(qiáng)勁有力!

Whoever owned it must have been able to bite really hard.

這塊下頜骨所屬的那個(gè)人啃咬起食物來(lái)一定很有勁。

And must have lived a long time ago for the bone to be buried so deep.

這一定是很久以前的事了，因?yàn)檫@塊骨頭在地下埋得這么深。
