Tip: propose既可作及物動(dòng)詞又可作不及物動(dòng)詞，可表示"提議，建議，推薦，求(婚)，祝酒"等。表示"提議，建議"時(shí)，后面接 Ving構(gòu)成 propose doing, 還可接 that從句。如 He proposed building a bridge across this river. (他建議在這條河上修建一座橋。)作不及物動(dòng)詞表示"計(jì)劃，打算"時(shí)，后面接動(dòng)詞不定式 (propose to do) ，如: They propose to begin tonight. (他們打算今晚開始行動(dòng)。)另外， propose to表示"向……求婚",如 Tom proposed to Marry the other day.
