第十五章 連詞 從屬連詞(2)

　　1.引起原因狀語(yǔ)從句的連詞：

　　1) because 因?yàn)椋?/p>

　　I study English because it is useful for my work.

　　我學(xué)英語(yǔ)因?yàn)樗鼘?duì)我的工追有好處。

　　She is in bed beouse she is ill.

　　她沒起床因?yàn)樗×恕?/p>

　　Because they lived on the edge of the Persian Empire, they were ruled by the king of Persia .

　　因?yàn)樗麄冏≡诓ㄋ沟蹏?guó)邊上，他們由波斯國(guó)王統(tǒng)治。

　　2) as 因?yàn)?，由于?/p>

　　As he wasn't ready he didn't come with us.

　　由于他沒準(zhǔn)備好，他沒和我們一塊兒來(lái)。

　　We couldn't go to school as life was very hard then.

　　我們沒能上學(xué)，因?yàn)槟菚r(shí)生活很苦。

　　As you can't drive, you must go by bus.

　　3) since 既然，由于：

　　Since you don't want to go, we won't force you to.

　　既然你不想去我們就不勉強(qiáng)你了。

　　We had to put the meeting off since so many people were absent.

　　由于很多人沒來(lái)，會(huì)議只好延期。

　　Yon may take this book since I have read it.

　　這本書你可以拿去看，因?yàn)槲乙呀?jīng)看過(guò)了。

　　4) now (that)既然已經(jīng)：

　　Now that you are all back, we'd better start the work right away.

　　你們既然都回來(lái)了，我們最好馬上就干起來(lái)。

　　Now(that) you are well again, you can travel.

　　既然你已痊愈，你就可以旅行了。

　　My mother runs it now that she and Dad are divorced.

　　現(xiàn)在媽和爸離婚了，商店就由媽經(jīng)營(yíng)。

　　5) seeing that 由于，考慮到：

　　Seeing that nobody was very enthusiastic about it, they decided to cancel the trip.

　　由于沒有人有此熱情，他們決定取消這次遠(yuǎn)足。

　　He has done well to pass his exams, seeing that he has been ill a lot.

　　考慮到他多次生病，他考試能及格就很不錯(cuò)了。
