第十四章 介詞 past, per 和round 的用法

　　1. past:

　　l)從旁過去：

　　She walked past the house.

　　她從屋旁走過。

　　I saw a boy running past my window.

　　我看見一個男孩從我窗前跑過去。

　　2)(時間)過了：

　　It's a quarter past two.

　　現(xiàn)在是兩點一刻。

　　It must be past five (midnight).

　　現(xiàn)在準過了五點(半夜十二點)了。

　　3)超過，無法：

　　He is far past forty.

　　他已四十好幾了。

　　The situation is past hope(cure).

　　情況己不可救藥。

　　2. per:

　　l)每…:

　　They're $2.50 per kilo.

　　它們每公斤兩塊五美金。

　　His car does 35 miles per gallon of petrol.

　　他的汽車每加侖汽油走35 英里。

　　2)用于percent(美國多連寫)：

　　Over sixty per cent of all families own a television.

　　百分之六十的家庭都有電視機。

　　3. Found:

　　l)圍著，環(huán)繞：

　　We might as well sit round the table.

　　我們不妨圍著桌子坐。

　　He looked round him in astonishment.

　　他驚異地向周圍瞧一瞧。

　　The Earth goes round the Sun.

　　地球繞著太陽轉(zhuǎn)。

　　2)在……范圍內(nèi)：

　　Let me take you round the town.

　　我?guī)愕匠抢锟纯础?/p>

　　I spent the afternoon going round the factory.

　　我下午在工廠轉(zhuǎn)了轉(zhuǎn)。

　　You don’t have to look for her round here.

　　你不必在這一帶找她。

　　3)表示地點或時(在……前后):

　　It's just round the corner.

　　它就在拐角處。

　　I'11 be back round May Day.

　　我在五一前后回來。

　　They arrived round 5 o'clock.

　　他們是五點前后到的。
