31 修理能手富蘭克林 MR.FIX-IT Franklin

Franklin could count by twos and ties his shoes.

He could fix a torn page with tape and he could fix himself a snack.

But one day, Franklin wanted to fix something with real tools.

This bolt is really rusted on.

Are you sure there’s nothing I can do to help you, Dad?

I appreciate the offer, Franklin, but there’s only enough room for one repair-turtle on this job.

Do you have anything that needs fixing, Goldie?

Hey, that’s not the right time.

Oh, no! Hey…Now I’ve got something to fix too, Goldie!

Ohhhh…I can’t get this thing back together!

Goldie, why didn’t you tell me not to do this.

Is everything okay, Franklin?

No, everything’s in pieces!

Why did you take your clock apart?

I was trying to fix it.

With a hammer?

I wasn’t using it for hitting,I was using the part you pull out nails with…to get the hands off.

So, did you learn anything?

Yes. I learned that I don’t know how to fix anything.

You did a good job fixing your pirate book with tape.

I know Mom, but I want to fix comething with tools.

Well, maybe with a little training, you could help me get caught up with some repairs around the house.

Really?! That’d be great!

2.

Uh uh uh. Lefty loosey;Righty tighty. Remember?

Oh, yeah. I’ve got to turn it the other way.

Right. Or should I say, righty tighty.

Hey look. I did it.I

It’s not dripping anymore.

Very good, Franklin.

Yes, you’re getting to be a real Mister Fix-it.

Really?!Thanks! I’ll get right to work on that squeaky washing machine.

Whoa! Hold on.

What?

You haven’t got quite enough experience for that yet.

Will I have enough experience tomorrow?

You’ve fixed a few simple thing so you’re off a good start. You’ve got about this much experience. Fixing a washing machine takes THIS much experience.

Oh…Can you give me some things to fix that are about this long?

Maybe later this afternoon we could take a look around for some more repair jobs.

Right now I’ve got to get that grass cut. It’s getting this long!

3.

Hmmm.

Hi bear.

Oh. Hi Franklin.

What’s wrong with your bike?

I was on my way to the pond to help Snail, and my wheel started getting wobbly.

Hmmm…It looks to me like a loosey…Um…Goosey problem.Nope,that’s not it.Now,where’s my wrench.

Where’d you get those, Franklin?

My Dad. He says I’m a real Mister Fix-it.

Gee’ I didn’t know that.

Well, it didn’t just happen all of a sudden. I had to get some experience first.

And you know how to fix something like this?

Oh sure. I just fixed a loose wheel this morning.

Great!

No, no that can’t be right. These bumpy ones must go on first…Hmmmm…Actually, maybe it doesn’t really matter.

Um…Did the wheel you fixed this morning stay on okey?

Of course. Don’t worry Bear, you’re talking to Mr. Fix-it.

Ooooh…

Oops. Heh. Right tighty.

Huh?

Hey Franklin! It’s not wobby like it was.

I know. I fixed it.

Thanks Franklin.

You’re welcome.

4.

What are you doing, Snail?

Oh.hi Franklin. I’m getting a load of sand for my new sandbox. Well actually it’s not a sandbox yet, right now it’s just a box. Bear is going to tow me home behind his bike.

Sorry it took me so long to get here, Snail. I had something wrong with my wheel. But Franklin fixed it for me.

Really?! Could you fix my dump truck too?

Sure. What’s wrong with it?

It won’t dump.

Whoa! Snail!

Are you alright?

Oh yeah, I’m fine...I think.

Well we don’t want that to happen again.

Wow. Are those real tools?

They’re real alright. He’s Mr. Fix-it.

Ta dah!

Hey, it works!

Your problem was an unsprung spring, Snail. I saw it happen to a clock I was working on once.

Gee Franklin, you sure know a lot about fixing things.

Well, I have quite a lot of experience you know. Probably this much.

Wow!/Oooooo…that’s a lot.

I’ll just give a few extra cranks on the spring in case you ever want to dump heavy things. There you go, Snail. that truck could dump a boulder now.

Gee, thanks, Franklin.

5.

Why do you have to do this all the time! Will you just stand up!

Are you having some trouble with your painting stand, Beaver?

It’s called an easel, and yes I’m having trouble with it.

Well you’re in luck, because Mister Fix-it is here.

Mister who? I don’t see anyone…except Bear and Snail.

Me. I’m Mister Fix-it.

What do you know about fixing things?

Lots! He fixed my bike!

And he fixed my dump truck, too!

Well if you can fix that easel, I’ll be very impressed.

Excuse me, Beaver. I’ve got work to do.

A little too complicated for you, Mister Fix-it? Hmmmmmm?

Mhew…That’s the toughest easel I’ve ever worked on, but I fixed it.

You did?! Wow! Thanks Franklin.

We told you he was good.

He’s Mr. Fix-it!

Well, my work is done here. Dad has some repair jobs for me to do at home. You know how it is, he needs help and I’ve got lots of experience.

See you later guys.

Bye Franklin. /See you later. /Bye!

Yahooooo! Go faster Bear!

No way! If you want to go faster, pass me!

Hey…My wheel is wobbly…

Oh no!

Hi Mom. Hi Dad. I’m ready to take some big jobs now.

Great…how about peeling carrots? I’ll teach you how to use this tool.

Dad! I’m talking about big repair jobs. I’ve got lots and lots of experience now.

Oh? /Really?

Yeah, I’ve been fixing things all afternoon. I fix the wobbly wheel on Bear’s bike, and made Snail’s dump truck dump…And I fixed Beaver’s easel so it would stand up all by itself.

It sounds like you’ve had a busy day.

That’s for sure. This morning I had this much experience…And now I have…

Oh…I’ll get it.

Hi Franklin.

What happened?!

It all started when you didn’t fix Bear’s wheel the right way.

And it all ended in a jar of blue paint.

Oh, sorry guys. I thought I knew what I was doing. I guess I was wrong. I’m not fix-it…I’m Mr. Wreck-it.

Well, you were doing the best you knew how.

Yeah, and no one can a ask for more than that.

Except maybe that you do it the right way next time.

You mean, you’d let me fix things for you again?...after everything that’s happened?

Sure. Because now you know how not to do it.

You’re right Bear. A large part of gaining experience is learning from your mistakes.

Yes, and learning not to make the same mistakes again.

Yeah. One trip like that is enough for me.

Dad, have you got time to help me re-fix a few things?

I think I could work that into my schedule.

Good. Now could someone get this thing off me. I feel like a walking sandwich!
