1. knock it of
knock it off用來告訴別人別來煩自己,可以翻譯成“住嘴;住手”。
而讓人別說話,還可以說“hold your tongue”。
Hold your tongue, young man!
年輕人,別說話!
I'm going to have to learn to hold my tongue.
我以后得學會管住自己的嘴。
2. forced
這里的forced是形容詞,表示被迫的,比如不得已做某事:
The plane had to make a forced landing because one of the engines failed.
由于一個引擎突然熄火,飛機只好迫降。
也可以形容(笑或情感)勉強的;不真誠的:
She tried hard to smile but suspected that it looked forced.
她努力微笑,但也覺得自己看上去笑得很勉強。
3. alibi
alibi是法律英語用詞,尤指沒有犯罪時間的“不在犯罪現(xiàn)場的證據(jù)”。
還可以用來表示“借口,托詞”:

4. take the high road
take the high road形容人堂堂正正的,補充road很實用的表達:
