For the first time, the U.S. government is getting involved in how food is marketed in public schools. The Obama administration wants schools to eliminate ads for foods that are high in sugar, fat and salt. Critics say it shouldn`t be up to the government to decide what kids eat, and some school districts think the latest rules might mean lost revenue from ads.

這是美國政府首次介入到公立學(xué)校銷售食物鏈條。奧巴馬政府希望學(xué)校取消高含糖量,高脂肪和高含鹽量的食物廣告。批評(píng)人士認(rèn)為政府沒有權(quán)利決定孩子吃什么,一些學(xué)校部門認(rèn)為最新出臺(tái)的政策可能丟失很多收入。

Our classrooms should be healthy places where kids are not bombarded with ads for junk food.

New rules proposed by First Lady Michelle Obama and the U.S. Department of Agriculture would eliminate advertisements for unhealthy food and drinks in schools.

新規(guī)則由第一夫人米歇爾奧巴馬和美國農(nóng)業(yè)部門共同推出,將會(huì)取消垃圾食品飲品在學(xué)校的廣告宣傳。

Parents should be in control of their kids` health. And their good efforts at home shouldn`t be undermined when they send their kids off to school.

父母應(yīng)該保持孩子的健康,在家保持的健康飲食習(xí)慣不應(yīng)該來到學(xué)校之后被毀壞。

It would mean hallways and score boards with coke or Pepsi advertisements would have to be changed. The new push comes on the fourth anniversary of the first lady`s let`s move initiative. It`s fighting childhood obesity by promoting healthy eating and exercise while encouraging healthy choices.

She says, for schools healthy students are not the only benefit.
