　　I worried for fear that my friend would be hurt.

　　我很擔心害怕我的朋友受到傷害。

　　<語法分析>

　　在這個句子里，for fear that起到連詞的作用，引導(dǎo)一個目的狀語從句。連詞的作用就是起到連接的作用，可以連接詞與詞或句與句，它只是個虛詞，不能擔任句子成分。連詞為數(shù)雖然不多，卻很重要，有很多從句都由它來引導(dǎo)，例如主語從句、賓語從句、狀語從句以及同位語從句等。從屬連詞引導(dǎo)從句，并列連詞連接互不依從的詞、短語或分句。
