[00:06.91]Lesson 4 Christmas
[00:09.69]Memories of Christmas
[00:11.68]For me,Christmas always began in the middle
[00:14.25]of the cold, windy month of November.
[00:17.41]My sister,Alison,and I sat down
[00:19.26]in front of the fire.
[00:20.66]and wrote a letter to Father Christmas
[00:22.70]telling him about all the presents we wanted.
[00:25.70]We seriously wrote"Father Christmas,
[00:27.94]the North Pole"on the envelope,
[00:30.12]before giving them to our mother to post.
[00:32.89]With December our excitement grew each day
[00:36.18]-as we opened the new year calendar,
[00:38.77]Christmas cards arrived in the post,
[00:40.95]Christmas lights appeared in the streets,
[00:43.10]and we attended the town carol service.
[00:46.04]And of course, there was snow everywhere.
[00:48.63]Enough snow to make snowmen,
[00:50.27]and to have excitings snowball fights
[00:52.30]in the school playground.
[00:54.51]On Christmas Eve,
[00:55.52]the whole family helped to decorate the house,
[00:58.29]put up the christmas tree and the decorations
[01:00.50]and blow up the balloons.
[01:02.59]Then,in the afternoon,
[01:04.01]when Auntie Kathleen and my two cousins arrived
[01:06.90]everything was ready. Before we went to bed,
[01:10.18]we left some wine and biscuits
[01:11.87]for Father Christmas,
[01:13.32]and then put our stockings
[01:14.92]at the end of our beds,
[01:14.92]
