84. A Letter to the University President about the Canteen Service on Campus
Dear President,
I am a sophomore in the Department of Computer Science. I am really sorry to take up your precious time, but I think as a member of our university, I have a responsibility to make it better. Recently I feel I can no longer put up with the poor conditions of our canteen.
As is known to all, canteen service is greatly connected with the health of the students. But the service in our dining hall is far from satisfactory. To begin with, we do not have a large variety of dishes to meet the demands of students coming from all parts of the country. In my class, a student coming from Guangzhou even said he would starve to death if things continue like that, for he could hardly find anything to his taste. To make things worse, every time we went to the canteen, we have to bear the rudeness of the waiters and waitresses. Though we have a very big and clean dining hall, we could scarcely find any pleasure eating there.
I do hope you can help us to end the deterioration of the service in our school canteen, I am expecting one day we will regain confidence in it.
Yours Sincerely
Li Ming
