Debbie Hart is going to swim across the EnglishChannel tomorrow. She is going to set out from theFrench coast at five o'clock in the morning. Debbie isonly fourteen years old and she hopes lo set up anew world record. She is a strong swimmer andmany people feel that she is sure to succeed.Debbie's father will set out with her in a smallboat. Mr Hart has trained his daughter for years.Tomorrow he will be watching her anxiously as sheswims the long distance to England. Debbie intendsto take short rests every two hours. She will have something to drink but she will not eat anysolid food. Most of Debbie's school friends will be waiting for her on the English coast. Amongthem will be Debbie's mother, who swam the Channel herself when she was a girl.

語言點1 feel的用法舉例：
He seems to feel a bit down today. 他今天好像感到情緒不佳。
I just don’t feel like myself today. 今天我感到身體有些不太舒服。
I feel for him in his troubles. 我對他的困境很同情。
語言點2 比較學習：succeed, prosper, flourish
1) succeed指在某項活動或事業(yè)中獲得理想的結(jié)果。
2) prosper側(cè)重經(jīng)濟上的成功或賺了大錢，如：
Mr. Buffet prospered from his wise share investments.
巴菲特先生由于明智的股票投資賺了不少錢。
3) flourish指形勢大好，處于興旺發(fā)達時期，如：
Our great motherland is flourishing with each passing day.
我們偉大的祖國蒸蒸日上。
5、Debbie's father will set out with her in a small boat.
黛比的父親將乘一條小船和她一道出發(fā)。
語言點 with her in a small boat在句中作狀語。
6、Mr. Hart has trained his daughter for years.
哈特先生訓(xùn)練他的女兒已經(jīng)多年了。
語言點 has trained現(xiàn)在完成時與for years搭配使用。
