My daughter, Jane, never dreamed of receiving aletter from a girl of her own age in Holland. Last year,we were traveling across the Channel and Jane put apiece of paper with her name and address on it intoa bottle. She threw the bottle into the sea. Shenever thought of it again, but ten months later,she received a letter from a girl in Holland. Bothgirls write to each other regularly now.However, they have decided to use the post office. Letters will cost a little more, but theywill certainly travel faster.

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 never為頻率副詞，用在實(shí)義動(dòng)詞之前。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 think of = think about考慮

5、Both girls write to each other regularly now.

現(xiàn)在兩個(gè)女孩定期通信了。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 both意為“兩者都”，后面的名詞必須用復(fù)數(shù)。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 regularly意為“有規(guī)律地，定期地”，為頻率副詞。

此句還可變?yōu)椋築oth girls regularly write to each other now.

6、However, they have decided to use the post office.

然而她們還是決定利用郵局。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 however然而，表示輕微轉(zhuǎn)折。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 decide to do決定做某事。
