第23章 越來(lái)越多的外國(guó)專家

David: The number of foreign experts in China hasrisen sharply. Can you explain why?

現(xiàn)在在中國(guó)的外國(guó)專家人數(shù)激增。你能解釋一下原因嗎?

You: China has opened its doors to foreignersbecause we need experts to bring over advanced technology to help our country develop.

由于我們需要通過(guò)專家引入先進(jìn)技術(shù)來(lái)幫助我國(guó)發(fā)展，所以中國(guó)向外國(guó)人敞開了大門。

David: So you are saying that recently, as the country develops, there is an increasing need forexperts. Do you think foreign experts are only good for technological advances?

就像你所說(shuō)的，最近隨著國(guó)家的發(fā)展，對(duì)外國(guó)專家的需求也與日俱增。你認(rèn)為外國(guó)專家只對(duì)技術(shù)進(jìn)步有貢獻(xiàn)嗎?那么我們又怎樣來(lái)衡量他們的技術(shù)水平呢?

You: They are also helpful in creating global connections between China and the world,enhancing friendships between nations and advancing world peace. But the funny thing is thatwe can’t tell who are the real experts, so we need some way of testing who the real expertsare.

不，他們還可以幫助中國(guó)與整個(gè)世界建立聯(lián)系。增進(jìn)各國(guó)人民之間的友誼以及友好合作往來(lái)，促進(jìn)世界和平。但是，問(wèn)題是有時(shí)我們不能很好的識(shí)別哪些是真正的專家，哪些不是。因此，我們需要有一些來(lái)作為衡量的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

David: Well, what countries do these foreign experts come from?

那么這些專家都來(lái)自哪些國(guó)家呢?

You: You name it. They come from a lot of countries, such as America, countries in Europe, andeven other Asian countries, such as Japan and Korea.

你說(shuō)呢?他們來(lái)自許多國(guó)家，例如美國(guó)，歐洲各國(guó)以及亞洲的日本，韓國(guó)等地。

David: I see. Most foreign experts are from developed countries.

噢，大部分外國(guó)專家都來(lái)自發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家。

You: As China develops rapidly with an aim to become a stronger nation in the world, she needsmore experts from different backgrounds to come and share their knowledge in order to keeppace with modern science and technology.

中國(guó)現(xiàn)在發(fā)展很快，要躋身世界民族之林，要與世界先進(jìn)的科技接軌，其中很重要的途徑就是不斷引進(jìn)西方各種專家。
