[00:08.23]There was a small boy living on a farm
[00:12.92]which seemed like so far away from everywhere.
[00:16.33]He needed to get up before sunrise every morning to start his chores
[00:21.25]and out again later to do the evening ones.
[00:24.86]During sunrise he would take a break and climb up on the fence
[00:29.56]so in the distance he could see the house with golden windows.
[00:34.04]He thought how great it would be to live there
[00:36.77]and his mind would wander to imagine the modern equipment and appliances
[00:42.24]that might exist in the house.
[00:43.67]“If they could afford golden windows,
[00:46.84]then they must have other nice things.”
[00:49.35]He then promised himself,
[00:51.10]“Some day I will go there and see this wonderful place.”
[00:54.93]Then one morning his father told him to stay at home
[00:58.98]and his father would do the chores.
[01:01.60]Knowing that this was his chance,
[01:04.22]he packed a sandwich and headed across the field
[01:07.48]towards the house with the golden windows.
[01:10.24]As the afternoon went on, he began to realize how he misjudged the distance
[01:15.93]and something else was very wrong.
[01:18.12]As he approached the house,
[01:20.41]he saw no golden windows but instead a place with in bad need of a painting
[01:26.27]surrounded by a broken down fence.
[01:29.05]He went to the tattered screen door and knocked.
[01:32.33]A small boy very close to his age opened the door.
[01:36.05]He asked him if he had seen the house with the golden windows.
[01:39.88]The boy said “Sure, I know.” and invited him to sit on the porch.
[01:45.13]As he sat there, he looked back from where he just came
[01:49.06]where the sunset turned the windows on his home to gold.
