An Indian walks into a New York City bank and asksto see the loan officer. He says he is going to Europeon business for two weeks and needs to borrow$5,000.

The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for such a loan, so the manhand over the keys of a new Rolls Royce parked on the street in front of the bank.
客服經(jīng)理說銀行規(guī)定這樣的借貸需要有擔保,于是這人遞上停在銀行外街邊的一輛勞斯萊斯新車的鑰匙。
Everything is checked out, and the bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.

An employee drives the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.
一個職員把這輛勞斯萊斯開進了銀行的地庫存放。
Two weeks later, the man returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.
兩個星期后,印度人回來了,還清了5000美元和15.41美元的利息。
The loan officer says, "We are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction hasworked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you outand found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is why would you bother to borrow$5,000?"
貸款客服經(jīng)理說:“我們銀行很高興能有你做主顧,我們之間的這筆業(yè)務已經(jīng)圓滿完成了。只是我們還有一點兒困惑。你不在的這段時間里,我們核實了你的情況,發(fā)現(xiàn)你是個千萬富翁。讓我們不能理解的是你為什么要來借區(qū)區(qū)5000美元?”
The Indian replied, "Where else in New York can I park my car for two weeks for 15 bucks?"
印度人答道:“紐約還有什么地方能讓我只花15美元就把我這輛車存兩個星期呢?”
