第九單元 父與子
Jason and his dad did not get along. They fought and disagreed about everything. When Jason was 19, he and his father got into a huge fight. Jason left home. He packed a bag and got on the first bus headingout of town. He went to a city that was not far away; however, to Jason it felt like another country.
杰森和他的父親相處得并不融洽,他們什么事都要爭吵,什么事意見都相左。杰森十九歲時(shí)和父親大吵一架,而離家出走,他打包行李,搭上第一班出城的公交車,來到不遠(yuǎn)處的城市,可是對杰森來說,這里卻像是異國。
He felt a little lonely but he tried to ignore those feelings because being on his own is what he wanted. He liked being independent and was glad to not be fighting with his father.
他覺得有些寂寞,不過他想辦法忽略這些感覺,因?yàn)榭孔约邯?dú)立過活一直是他的心愿,他喜歡獨(dú)立,而且很高興不用再和他的父親起爭執(zhí)。
Two years had passed since he had left home and aince he had spoken to his mother or father. One night he had a terrible dream. In his dream, his father was very sick. The next day Jason thought a lot about his dream. He realized that he could barely remember why he and his father weren't talking anymore.
他離家兩年了,從沒和父母通過話。一個(gè)晚上,他做了個(gè)噩夢,在夢中,父親病危,隔天杰森一直在想他的夢,他發(fā)現(xiàn)幾乎記不得他和父親是為什么不說話。
That evening he got on a bus and went back to his parent's home. Jason was happy to find his parents both healthy and very pleased to see him again.
當(dāng)天晚上,他搭公交車回到父母家,杰森很高興知道父母都很健康,而且很高興能再見到他。
