Ali: It’s just our luck that as soon as we arrive here for our island vacation, there’s ahurricane warning!

真倒霉我們剛到這里來海島度假，就有颶風警報!

Mariela: It’s uncanny, isn’t it? On last year’s vacation, we crossed paths with a tornado andnow this.

真是不可思議，是不是?在去年的假期，我們穿過龍卷風和現(xiàn)在又遇到了這個。

Ali: Yeah, that tornado was something. I had experienced windstorms before with reallystrong gusts of wind, but it was nothing like that tornado. Do you remember the way all of thewindows, doors, and even walls rattled? The tornado blew down power lines and uprootedtrees!

：是啊，這龍卷風真是麻煩。我經(jīng)歷過真正的伴隨強風的風暴，但它和龍卷風不一樣。你還記得龍卷風沿途所有的窗戶，門，甚至墻壁都嘎嘎作響嗎?龍卷風刮到了電源線和將樹木連根拔起!

Mariela: That was terrifying. Do you think we’ll have another experience like that this time?

Ali: I really hope not. We came for ocean breezes, but if the hurricane makes landfall, we’llhave gale winds of up to 50 miles per hour!

Mariela: And we’re trapped here! What should we do?

Ali: We’ll just buckle down and wait it out. With any luck, the hurricane will miss the islandaltogether.
