When I was an infant, I got a rag doll. It was a very plain little doll, and it wore a clown outfit and a clown hat. I used to take that doll to bed with me every night. I couldn't go to bed without my doll. My mother used to pretend that the doll was talking to me. She would make the doll dance and sing songs. I would talk to the doll, and my mother would answer for the doll, but I was a baby and I thought that the doll was actually talking to me. 

當(dāng)我還是嬰兒時(shí)，我得到了一個(gè)布娃娃。那是一個(gè)非常樸素的小娃娃，穿著小丑服裝，戴著小丑帽。我每天晚上都帶著那個(gè)娃娃上床睡覺。沒有娃娃，我就沒法睡覺。我媽媽過去常常假裝娃娃在跟我說話。她會(huì)讓娃娃跳舞唱歌。我會(huì)跟娃娃說話，我媽媽會(huì)替娃娃回答，但我當(dāng)時(shí)還是個(gè)嬰兒，我以為娃娃實(shí)際上是在跟我說話。

That doll was my best friend. I took her everywhere. One time I took her to a store with me, and I left her on a shelf in the store. We were halfway home when I realized I didn't have my doll with me. I was very upset. My mother and I rushed back to the store. My doll was still there. I was so relieved. I hugged my doll and I promised myself that I would never leave her anywhere again. I couldn't imagine life without that doll. 

那個(gè)娃娃是我最好的朋友。我到處都帶著她。有一次，我?guī)ド痰?，把她放在商店的架子上。我們走到半路時(shí)，我意識(shí)到我沒有帶娃娃。我很難過。我和媽媽沖回商店。我的娃娃還在那里。我松了一口氣。我擁抱了我的娃娃，并向自己保證，我再也不會(huì)把她留在任何地方。我無法想象沒有那個(gè)娃娃的生活。

Through the years, the doll became less important in my life. I had other things to do, but the doll still sat on my bed during the day, and I still took it to bed at night. I gave that doll a lot of love when I was little. In fact, I love that doll so much that she looks tattered and torn now. There are parts of her face and hands that are almost worn away. I had a lot of other toys when I was little, but none of them were ever as important as that doll. 

這些年來，娃娃在我生活中的重要性越來越小。我還有其他事情要做，但娃娃白天還是放在我床上，晚上還是把它抱上床。小時(shí)候，我給了娃娃很多愛。事實(shí)上，我太愛那個(gè)娃娃了，以至于她現(xiàn)在看起來破破爛爛的。她的臉和手的某些部分幾乎已經(jīng)磨損了。小時(shí)候，我有很多其他玩具，但沒有一個(gè)像那個(gè)娃娃那么重要。

I don't play with toys anymore, but that doll is still in my room. She sits in a special chair in the corner. I'll always have that doll, no matter how worn out she is. I'll always keep her and cherish her as part of my early childhood.
