　　1. 解詞釋義

　　Level這個(gè)詞語(yǔ)有幾個(gè)意思，在這里可以理解為“水平面”，因此，on the level就可以說(shuō)是“在說(shuō)平面上”，即可以清清楚楚看見(jiàn)的。如果我們說(shuō)一個(gè)人on the level，那意思就是說(shuō)這個(gè)人很直率，坦誠(chéng)，誠(chéng)實(shí)，沒(méi)有騙人你可以相信他的話。對(duì)話中“I expect you to be on the level with me.”的意思就是“我希望你能坦誠(chéng)對(duì)我。”

　　2. 典型范例

　　e.g. I'm afraid no one is on the level with me here.

　　恐怕你們都沒(méi)有對(duì)我說(shuō)實(shí)話。

　　e.g. Paisley told me I'd acted square and on the level with him and he was proud to call me afriend.

　　Paisley說(shuō)我為人光明磊落，同我交朋友臉上有光。

　　Ps 1：be sad about的意思是“對(duì)......感到難受”“對(duì)......感到傷心”等。例如：

　　We were sad about the death of our dear grandfather. 我們親愛(ài)的祖父去世了，我們感到悲痛。

　　There's a generation gap between us and I'm sad about this. 我們之間已經(jīng)存在代溝了，對(duì)于這件事我很難過(guò)。

　　He is feeling sad about his examination results. 他為自己的考試成績(jī)不好而感到難受。

　　Ps 2：unintentional的意思是“無(wú)心的，不是故意的”。例如：

　　Sometimes, there are some deliberate or unintentional misunderstandings appearing amongthem. 有時(shí)候他們之間也會(huì)有意無(wú)意地出現(xiàn)一些不理解。

　　Perhaps he had slightly misled them, but it was quite unintentional. 也許他給他們?cè)斐闪诵⌒〉恼`導(dǎo)，但他不是有意的。
