大家好，笨小孩廣播學(xué)口語(yǔ)準(zhǔn)時(shí)與大家相約，Andy 送上最誠(chéng)摯的問(wèn)候, good day, everyone !今天我們來(lái)學(xué)習(xí)的兩個(gè)俚語(yǔ)是I have to make ends meet和She wears the trousers in the family.

我們先來(lái)看第一句俚語(yǔ)I have to make ends meet .End是“結(jié)尾，終點(diǎn)“的意思，meet, “相遇”。Make ends meet,讓終點(diǎn)相聯(lián)結(jié)，也就是使這一頭和那一頭能碰上，能接上，用在錢上就是“使收支相抵”。

杰克和露絲有兩個(gè)孩子，而他們倆的工資都很低，趕上公司裁員，露絲失業(yè)了，他們的生活更加拮據(jù)了，鄰居里德夫人對(duì)里德先生說(shuō)：“Rose is out of work and they have two young children, they will find it is impossible to make ends meet.(露絲失業(yè)了，他們有兩個(gè)孩子，他們將無(wú)法維持生活。)”

里德先生也覺(jué)得有道理，他點(diǎn)點(diǎn)頭說(shuō)：“Yeah . Both of them have to work to make ends meet.(是啊，他們倆都得工作才可維持生活。)” 有沒(méi)有人花錢大手大腳的呢?那可要注意收支相抵啊，不然會(huì)出現(xiàn)赤字的。

下面我們來(lái)看第二句話She wears the trousers in the family .Trouser是“褲子”的意思，wear the trousers, 穿褲子，在這句話里的意思是 “當(dāng)家，做主 ，掌權(quán)(尤指婚姻關(guān)系)”，而且通常是對(duì)于女子而言的。She wears the trousers in the family，就是“在家里她是一家之主”。

里德先生娶了一個(gè)精明能干的妻子，可這為女士太精明能干了，以至于什么事都要經(jīng)她手處理。她常對(duì)里德說(shuō)：“You should know who wears the trousers in the house.(你應(yīng)該清楚家里誰(shuí)說(shuō)了算。)”

大家都知道里德先生怕老婆，都互相議論說(shuō)：“Mr. Read is henpecked by his wife. Mrs. Read wears the trousers in that family. (里德先生怕老婆，在家里里德夫人 是一家之主。)”
