Are you shortsighted? ( nearsighted / shortsighted )

多年前我在 Community College進(jìn)修英文，某日老師進(jìn)入教室后向我們宣布，她得眼鏡壞了，看不清楚字，今天不用課本，以自由交談得方式上課。我立刻打開(kāi)話匣子問(wèn)老師：“Are you shortsighted?”老師瞪了我一眼，然后用冷淡的音調(diào)回答：“I am not shortsighted。”

我仍然不知趣的繼續(xù)問(wèn)她：“How come you can't see very well?”這時(shí)候老師知道我又在說(shuō)中國(guó)英文，便心平氣和利用機(jī)會(huì)來(lái)教育我們，她說(shuō)：“I am a nearsighted person. I am not shortsighted. There is a difference between nearsightedness and shortsighted."

Nearsighted表示此人視力有問(wèn)題,而shortsightedness表示此人沒(méi)有遠(yuǎn)見(jiàn)的意思!
