Winston Churchill’s Address

“..取得勝利會(huì)很艱巨，但必須勝利，無(wú)論其道路多長(zhǎng)多遠(yuǎn)，因?yàn)闆](méi)有勝利就不能生存。”英國(guó)前首相溫斯頓·丘吉爾口才極佳。他在敦刻爾克大撤退后，法西斯轟炸英倫三島，人心惶恐的情況下發(fā)表了那著名的、令人久久不能忘懷的演說(shuō)。

...Victory in spite of terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.　

We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and the oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender...

beach : the shore of a body of water, especially where sandy or pebbly 海灘　
surrender : to relinquish possession or control of to another because of demand or compulsion 放
