Dialogue 1

M: How's the soup coming along?

C: I don't think It's ready yet. It needs to thicken a bit more.

M: What seasonings did you put in it?

C: I put some basil, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper and a few bay leaves.

M: So it's not going to be spicy, then, right?

C: No, it will be flavourful though.

M: What's your favourite flavour?

C: I have quite a sweet tooth, but I like to have a balance of flavours at every meal. When it comes to cooking, using the right seasonings is more important than the way you cook.

M: That's true. Spices can make or break a meal!

C: What do you think about most English fook?

M: Personally, I don't think the English really know how to use seasonings or spices. Everything seems a bit tasteless.

C: When it comes to traditional English food, I think you're right. It tends to be quite bland, with just salt and pepper to give it flavour.

M: I'm finishen cutting the vegetables for the salad. Which dressing do you prefer: oil and vinegar, Italian dressing, or French dressing?

C: Why don't you just mix some oik and Vinegar together with some garlic and a little sugar, and sprinkle it with some salt and pepper?

M: Ok. Tonight's dinner will be nice and healthy, but filling at the same time.

Dialogue 2

C: Would you like a cup of mint tea?

M: That would be nice, thanks. Could I have a lemon in it as well?

C: Sure.

M: Do you need any help in the kitchen?

C: I could use a little help with the sauce. Do you mind?

M: Not at all. What do you need me to do?

C: Well, after you wash your hands, you could add the mustard to the milk in the saucepan.

M: Do I need to stir it?

C: Yes, milk should always be stirred when it's being heated. If it's not, it could burn or congeal.

M: How long should I stir the milk and the mustard?

C: Just bring it to a simmer.

M: Do I need to add any other seasoning to it?

C: You can sprinkle it with some pepper and salt if you want.

M: What should I do when it starts simmering.

C: You can add some soy sauce, vinegar, red chilli powder, and some sesame seeds.

M: What are we going to eat this sauce with?

C: It's going to go over some noodles.

M: I'll just grate a bit of cheese on it, too.

C: If you think it'll taste good, go head...
