高中英語作文:重陽節(jié) The Double Ninth Festival

The ninthday of the ninth lunar month is the Chong Yang Festival, a traditional festivalin China. The celebrating activities are various and romantic ,includingclimbing mountains , appreciating chrysanthemums , wearing dogwoods , eatingthe Chong Yang cake and so on . “Nine” has the same pronunciation as theChinese character “jiu” which stands for ”a long time” , and is the biggestsingle  figure . Therefore it indicts longevity.There have been a lot of poems and works celebrating Chong Yang Festival andpraising chrysanthemums since ancient times. People also believe that climbingmountains can expel bad luck, and indicates “climbing to a higher position” and“longevity”. China designates the ninth day of the ninth month as Senior ‘s Day, which combine tradition with modern times subtly to turn it into a festivalfor respecting , caring about , loving , and helping the elderly people .

農(nóng)歷九月初九為中國傳統(tǒng)的節(jié)日—重陽節(jié)。慶祝重陽節(jié)的活動多彩而浪漫，包括登高遠(yuǎn)眺、觀賞菊花、遍插茱萸、吃重陽糕等。“九”與漢字“久”同音，又是個位數(shù)字之最，因此寓意長壽長久。自古以來，有不少賀重陽用菊花的詩詞佳作。人們還以為，登高可以驅(qū)除霉運(yùn)，意指“晉升高位”和“長壽”。中國把九月九日定為老人節(jié)，傳統(tǒng)與現(xiàn)代巧妙地結(jié)合，使之成為一個尊老、敬老、助老的節(jié)日。
