卡耐基演講·演講時(shí)應(yīng)該注意的態(tài)度

我們與世界發(fā)生接觸的方法有且只有四種。這一點(diǎn)信不信由你。我們以這四種接觸進(jìn)行評(píng)估、歸類：我們做什么，我們看起來(lái)是什么樣子，我們說(shuō)些什么，還有我們?cè)趺凑f(shuō)。本章談?wù)摰氖亲詈笠豁?xiàng)：我們?cè)趺凑f(shuō)。WOULD YOU BELIEVE it? There are four ways, and only four ways, in which we have contact with the world. We are evaluated and classified by these four contacts: what we do, how we look, what we say, and how we say it. This chapter will deal with the last of these-how we say it.

我最初教當(dāng)眾演講課時(shí)，花費(fèi)了很多時(shí)間對(duì)學(xué)生進(jìn)行發(fā)聲練習(xí)，教學(xué)生們利用共振，訓(xùn)練他們?cè)龃笠袅?，增加尾音的輕松活潑。但是不久后我發(fā)現(xiàn)，教導(dǎo)成年人怎樣把音調(diào)合乎規(guī)范、怎樣形成銳耳的聲音，完全是無(wú)用的東西。這些訓(xùn)練，對(duì)那些能花上三四年的時(shí)間來(lái)改進(jìn)聲音表達(dá)技巧的人來(lái)說(shuō)，的確是個(gè)好方法。然而我知道，我的學(xué)生只能使用自己天生的嗓門，如果把用以協(xié)助學(xué)生練習(xí)“橫膈膜式呼吸”的時(shí)間、精力花在更重要的目標(biāo)上——幫助他們從“死也不敢放手去做”的自我囚禁中解脫出來(lái)，我會(huì)取得十分快速而持久的驚人效果。感謝上帝，我很明智地這樣去做了！When I first started to teach public speaking classes, I spent a great deal of time on the use of vocal exercises to develop resonance, increase the range of voice, and enhance inflectional agility. It wasn't long, however, before I began to see the utter futility of teaching adults how to project their tones into the upper sinuses and how to form "liquid" vowels. This is all very fine for those who can devote three or four years to improving themselves in the art of vocal delivery. I realized that my students would have to settle for the vocal equipment they were born with. I found that if I expended the time and energy I formerly devoted to helping class members to "breathe diaphragmatically" and worked on the far more important objectives of freeing them from their inhibitions and general reluctance to let themselves go, I would achieve quick and lasting results that were truly amazing. I thank God I had the sense to do this.
