　　1.bitterly　ad. 嚴寒地，刺骨地

　　A: It's bitterly cold today.

　　甲:今天冷得要命。

　　B: Yeah, the temperature has dropped a lot recently.

　　乙:可不是嘛，最近氣溫降了很多。

　　2.cold spell 寒流

　　A: It's pretty cold.

　　甲:真冷。

　　B: We are going to have a cold spell, I hear.

　　乙:聽說要來寒流了。

　　3.freezing a. 極冷的

　　A: I’m freezing to death. Get me out of this damn place, now!

　　甲:我快凍死了!快把我?guī)С鲞@個鬼地方!

　　B: I don't know the way.

　　乙:可我也不知道路。

　　4.frozen a. 冰凍的，極冷的

　　A: I'm frozen to the Gone. I can't drive any more.

　　甲:我快凍僵了，開不了車了。

　　B: We'd better have a few hot drinks in a bat.

　　乙:我們最好在這個酒吧里先來幾杯熱飲料。

　　5.numb a. 麻木的，失去知覺的

　　A: Help! My hands and feet are all numb. I can't move!

　　甲:救命!我的手腳都凍僵了，我動不了了!

　　B: Hold on! I'm coming!

　　乙:堅持住!我來了!
