While the September event for Apple is always a big one because of the new iPhone announcements, Apple stepped it up a gear this year with no less than five major announcements.

Launching on September 20 this is a subscription app service. What Netflix does for TV shows and Movies, Apple is doing with games on your Apple devices.

For $7.99 per month you'll have access to a library of well over 100 games, all of them designed exclusively for Apple Arcade.

Taking on Netflix, Stan, Hulu, Disney Plus and many more, Apple's own streaming TV service will launch on November 1.

The focus from Apple is on their original content - amazing TV shows and documentaries they have had created exclusively for the platforms featuring some very big name stars like Jennifer Anniston and Oprah Winfrey.

Unexpectedly, Apple announced a new entry level iPad. Replacing the popular 9.7inch model, the new one will be 10.2 inches and support the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard which Apple reckon pits it right up against some of the biggest selling laptops.

There's an all-new Apple Watch series 5 which features a range of new features and colours, including an "always-on display". This means rather than being a black screen when you aren't looking at it, the watch will show a clock face. They say the battery life won't be affected.

There's three new iPhones. All of them bare the iPhone 11 name, with the $1199 version coming in six colours including a new green a purple, while the higher end iPhone 11's will be called the iPhone 11 Pro with the larger version called the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
