專家表示 魚油保健品不能使心臟健康

Taking omega-3 fish oil supplements is often toutedas a simple way to protect your heart -- but experts say the evidence that it does any good is flimsy at best.

攝取“歐米伽-3”魚油保健品是保護(hù)心臟的簡(jiǎn)單有效的方法?專家指出,能證明這一說法的證據(jù)的說服力非常有限。

Cochrane researchers looked at trials in over 100,000 people and found little proof that it prevented heart disease. They say the chance of getting any meaningful benefit from taking omega-3 is one in 1,000.

考科藍(lán)合作組織的研究人員研究了10萬個(gè)參與試驗(yàn)的人,發(fā)現(xiàn)魚油能防止心臟病的證據(jù)非常少。他們表示,通過攝入“歐米伽-3”而得到切實(shí)益處的機(jī)會(huì)只有千分之一。

Eating oily fish, however, can still be recommended as part of a healthy diet.

不過,吃富含脂肪的魚仍然是值得提倡的健康飲食習(xí)慣之一。

The review mainly looked at supplements rather than omega-3 from eating fish. Experts still believe the latter is good for the heart as well as general health.

這一說法主要針對(duì)保健品,而不是通過直接吃魚獲得的“歐米伽-3”成分。專家仍然相信,后者對(duì)于心臟以及總體健康還是有好處的。

The NHS says people should try to eat two portions of fish per week, one of which should beoily fish, such as salmon, fresh tuna or mackerel, to get enough "good" fats.

英國國民保健署表示,人應(yīng)該盡可能每周吃兩份魚,而其中一份應(yīng)該是像三文魚、金槍魚或者鯖魚這類富含脂肪的魚,以獲取足夠的有益脂肪。

 

But when it comes to fish oil supplements, Cochrane lead author, Dr Lee Hooper, from the University of East Anglia, said: "We can be confident in the findings of this review which go against the popular belief that long-chain omega-3 supplements protect the heart.

This large systematic review included information from many thousands of people over long periods.

The review provides good evidence that taking long-chain omega-3 supplements does not benefit heart health or reduce our risk of stroke or death from any cause.

The most trustworthy studies consistently showed little or no effect of long-chain omega-3 fats on cardiovascular health.

Prof Tom Sanders, a nutrition expert at King's College London and honorary director of Heart UK, said: "Current dietary guidelines to prevent cardiovascular disease encourage fish consumption, rather than taking supplements.
